Imagine Rugby's donations play vital role in Utah rugby growth

Imagine Rugby’s goal of increasing youth rugby participation nationwide is progressing well in the state of Utah, with thousands of youth getting involved with the sport through schools and recreational programs. Imagine Rugby has been a pivotal force in nurturing the growth of rugby in Utah, particularly through its donations distributed by the Utah Warriors and used in youth programs around the state.

A portion of Imagine Rugby’s donation is seen in the starter kits distributed by the Utah Warriors that are used to introduce rugby in schools across the state. The kits provide essential equipment for teachers and coaches to use in their gyms. They also include instructional materials, helping instructors to gain a better understanding of the sport, especially if they are less familiar with teaching rugby. The organization’s donation of 250 kits totals to about 2,000 rugby balls.

Imagine Rugby's impact extends to the donation of over $10,000 in rugby equipment over the past several years, benefiting grassroots rugby programs, schools, and the Jr. Warriors program. This year alone, Imagine Rugby provided 120 rugby balls to be utilized by Jr. Warriors leagues and clinics. In 2022, gear was distributed to 78 schools and in 2023 equipment reached 100 schools and over 53,000 kids. The organization’s substantial contributions have helped bolster interest in the sport at various levels, ensuring that players of all ages have access to quality equipment to hone their skills and enjoy the game.
