HERRIMAN, Utah (August 17, 2023) — The Utah Warriors have hired Brendan O’Meara as the team’s assistant coach overseeing attack.O’Meara will develop the Warriors’ offensive framework for the upcoming season, looking to bolster the program’s attack strategy and skill.“The Utah Warriors are very fortunate to have a coach with the quality of Brendan O’Meara join our organization,” said Greg Cooper, head coach of the Utah Warriors. “At the Warriors, we pride ourselves in our attack. With Brendan’s skills, the attack will definitely continue to grow. It’s an exciting time for the Utah Warriors and l personally look forward to working with Brendan, as we build towards a successful 2024 season.”O’Meara joins the Warriors after most recently acting as Assistant Head Coach for the American Raptors in Glendale. Before his stint with the Raptors, he worked with Austin Gilgronis as contact coach for their MLR side in addition to leading their development program as their Academy’s head coach.He also coached for Saint Mary’s College of California, his alma mater, for several years. During his time there, the team earned three national championships and produced top collegiate talent. O’Meara coached for the USA U20s team in 2018 in their preparation for the Junior World Trophy Qualification matches.“I can’t wait to get started with the Warriors and work hard for the best fan base in the MLR,” said O’Meara. “I am excited to work with such a talented group of players and staff to continue to showcase an exciting brand of winning rugby.”O’Meara will work alongside Cooper and assistant coach Robbie Abel in the team’s quest for an MLR Championship run in 2024.
