2021 Utah Warriors schedule

Salt Lake City — The Utah Warriors and Major League Rugby released their 2021 regular season schedule today, ahead of the Warriors’ fourth season in the MLR. As a founding member of the MLR, the Utah Warriors and their fans will see eight home games and 16 total regular-season matches. The 2021 season opens on the road Sunday, March 21, versus 2019 MLR runner-up San Diego Legion at Torero Stadium. The Warriors first home match of the season will be the following weekend on Saturday, March 27, against the New England Freejacks, who the Warriors bested in their previous 2020 meeting 39-33 in Las Vegas. The Warriors face a few unfamiliar opponents in the form of 2020 MLR expansion team Old Glory DC and 2021 MLR expansion teams Los Angeles and Dallas. The Warriors will square off against DC on April 3 at their new stadium location of Segra Field, while LA and Dallas will feature as home-and-away foes in the Western Conference throughout the season.More notable matches this season include showings against 2018 and 2019 MLR champs, the Seattle Seawolves, May 2 and June 12 (away and home) and NOLA Gold at home on May 29. The Warriors defeated the Seawolves in their shortened 2020 season in a thrilling 33-31 overtime win. The Warriors will face NOLA Gold only once in the 2021 schedule in the teams’ first meeting in two years, as the 2020 matchup was suspended just one day prior to its scheduled date.Another matchup highly anticipated by Warriors Nation is the meeting between the Warriors and the Austin Gilgronis on May 15 and July 17 (away and home). The last matchup between the Warriors and AG resulted in a tie in Austin, TX, and it was one of the last matches played in the 2020 season. The 2021 meeting at Zions Bank Stadium on July 17 closes out the regular season for the Warriors. After a disappointing 2-12-2 record in 2019 and a promising 3-2 season cut short due to COVID-19 in 2020, the Warriors are chomping at the bit to get back into action. Head coach Chris Latham says the team has been preparing both mentally and physically with their new roster.“I really do feel the players are highly motivated by the changes we made in the 2020 season and the improvement in performance, [and] after our win against Seattle, I saw a different look in the guys’ eyes,” Latham said. “[We need to] make sure we can keep that feeling moving into the early stages of this season and then really build from that.”With the recent additions to the core returning roster for the Warriors, returner Saia Uhila is eager to get the new-look team working together and building towards a successful 2021 season.“The squad is looking very sharp, and you can definitely see the hunger that these boys have,” Uhila said. “We can’t wait to prove ourselves as a team in competition.”Season tickets are available at www.WarriorsRugby.com or by contacting the ticket office at tickets@warriorsrugby.com. Single-game tickets go on sale on Dec. 10 to the general public, with advance-purchase opportunities available for season ticket holders on December 9.UTAH WARRIORS 2021 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

"I was able to bring my family to three games. It was a lot of fun for all the kids, my wife, and myself. The atmosphere is very family-friendly for even my youngest kids. I had 4 children attend the pregame Jr. Warriors clinics on 2 separate occasions; they had a lot of fun with those experiences and it was a very positive and encouraging environment."
