The Warriors are the first MLR and in-state professional team to make this announcementMarch 10, 2021 — Herriman, UT. The Utah Warriors Rugby team today announced they have been given clearance by Salt Lake County Health Department and Zions Bank Stadium to expand their ticket offering to above seventy-five percent. This makes the Warriors the first team in Salt Lake to offer near-capacity seats, along with side-by-side seats for fans.“The Warriors are excited to help play a big role in how we transition to life post-COVID as a community,” said Warriors CEO and GM Kimball Kjar, “We’re grateful to the Salt Lake County Health Department and the amazing staff at Zions Bank Stadium in making this plan a reality for Warriors Nation. With the response we received from our ‘Can’t Wait List’ campaign we expect some strong interest from the community. We will make this transition safe, and will continue to follow the recommendations of the county health officials.”News of the Warriors moving to near-full-capacity and side-by-side is the first professional sports team in Utah to make such an announcement. Presently, Real Salt Lake (MLS) and the Utah Jazz (NBA) are still under very limited seating capacity plans, with the expectation that those plans will change in the near future.Warriors staff noted that previous COVID-19 safety policies will still be in place for entry into Zions Bank Stadium on game day, including mask-wearing and temperature checks. Other modifications to the gameday experience will include the opportunity for fans to buy food and drinks in designated concession gardens staged throughout the stadium complex, including a new dedicated concession area in the South Endzone.“We realize the gameday experience will be a little different on March 27th than before COVID-19,” Kjar went on to say, “But we felt getting our community back together enjoying professional sports was the priority above all else. We hope fans will agree that ‘re-uniting with rugby’ will help us all start to move towards a new normal, while also finding fun and safe new ways to enjoy a Warriors game day experience together.”In addition to expanded seating capacity, the Warriors have made a number of additional enhancements for home games. This includes local celebrity Big Budah from Fox13 joining the venue entertainment team at all home games, the launch of the new Warriors Nation Stunt Team, in-stadium music by DJ Bad Hair Day, and new game day experiences like the Warriors Walk, Kids Warriors Facepainting, Warriors Pass Challenge, and a dedicated Warriors Supporters Group tailgate area.“Above all,” Kjar noted, “We want our fans and community to come together safely and have some fun doing so. It’s been a long year for everyone, and we are thrilled to reunite with Warriors Nation and invite the entire state of Utah to come to enjoy the world’s most exciting sport with us as we all look to find this ‘new norm’ together. They won’t be disappointed on or off the field.”For more information on the “Re-Unite with Rugby” seating, COVID-19 and concessions plans for the Warriors’ March 27th home opener, please visit www.WarriorsRugby.com/re-unite-with-rugby/.For more information on season ticket options for the Utah Warriors 2021 MLR Season please visit www.WarriorsRugby.com or call the Warriors’ Box Office at 801-477-7652.The Utah Warriors are a founding member of Major League Rugby and one of 12 professional rugby teams competing in the MLR.
